Everest Base Camp (EBC) and Kala Pattar trek is one the most popular and sought- after destinations in the world. The trek provides an awesome experience in the high Himalaya region covering the major sites of attractions of the region such as Lukla, Namche, Kala Patthar, Everest Base Camp, Chola pass, Gokyo Lake, Thyangboche and so on. With breath-taking sceneries, snow-laden peaks, interesting villages and unique Sherpa culture, Everest region has a lot to offer.
From Kalapattar you will enjoy outstanding and breathtaking views of world’s top eight thousand highest peaks i.e. Cho Oyu (8,201m), Makalu (8,463m), Lhotse (8,516m) and Everest (8,848m) along with many other peaks. On the way you will pass through rhododendron forests, rocky hills, rivers, glaciated lakes until you reach Everest Base Camp. You can also explore Sherpa villages and study their socio-cultural aspects i.e., their traditions, culture and life style.
After getting prepared in Kathmandu the trip begins with the exciting mountain flight to Lukla airstrip (the gateway to the Everest region) and then continues walking along the Dudh Koshi river, until we reach the lively Sherpa settlement of Namche Bazaar where we spend two nights to ensure proper acclimatization with excursion hike around. After leaving Namche Bazaar we trek towards Tengboche, Dingboche , Chhukung ,Lobuche and then to Everest Base Camp and Kalapattar (Black rock) passing through several tea house- lodges and villages and monasteries. Everest Base Camp is truly the top of the world and worthy of any other treks.
No doubt the different and less trodden trek route than the regular Everest base camp trek itinerary allows all the trekkers in group to have enough time for proper and better acclimatization. After we ascend to the EBC and Kalapattar we hike down to Lukla to catch flight to Kathmandu via Pheriche , Khumjung and Jorsale by different trails than the one we trekked before
