Jiri to EBC trekking is one of the most popular longer hikes available in the Everest region. You will walk in the footsteps of late Sir Edmund Hillary and late Tenzing Norgay to the Base Camp of Mt. Everest, the tallest mountain in the world, through rhododendron forests in full bloom in spring, over snow-covered passes, following glacier-fed rivers that meander around terraced hills, with a near-constant panoramic mountain views. On the way you will visit Sherpa villages, enjoy their generous hospitality, and experience their culture and traditional lifestyle. Besides you will also visit the whitewashed stupas and monasteries where prayer flags flutter in the air, meet the Buddhist monks in the monasteries. You will not enjoy gorgeous views all through the trails but you will find complete solitude and peace of mind while walking in the Himalayan trail. Many Sherpa families along this mountain trail have run teahouses catering to foreign hikers.
Most of the trekkers prefer to go to Everest Base Camp on a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and make two day trek up to Namche Bazaar. As compared to Lukla-Namche Bazaar trail, Jiri to EBC trail is much quiet with lesser number of trekkers.
